Teachers Summer Professional Development

Summer Professional Development for STM Teachers

June 29, 2010:Tuesday: GoogleTreks

This site was created by Dr. Alice Christie to share some of what she's learned from her forty years as an educator. It reflects her interests, experiences, and commitment to being a lifelong learner.

The site has several major sections. It is a comprehensive resource for educators wishing to use technology in their classrooms. It also provides resources for educators on web design, links to her research publications, and a gallery of her photography. Finally, it provides an overview of her consulting services

SweetSearch4Me - http://4me.sweetsearch.com/

SweetSearch4Me is recommended for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. This search engine searches only Web sites that their staff of research experts, librarians and teachers have evaluated and approved as high-quality content appropriate for young users. Only the best sites directed at elementary school students are included, and many of the results on the first page were created exclusively for kids. The final site is anticipated to be released in September.
